The acting director of the General Directorate of Traffic lt. Col. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Sabah, said that the General Directorate of Traffic are still continuing its traffic campaigns on various streets and highways to ensure that everyone is committed to the traffic rules and regulations to maintain the lives of all road users.

Explaining that the General Directorate of Traffic had monitor 138 violation of exceeding the red traffic light in the period from 29 June to 5 July 2008. This coinciding with the start of the summer vacation and increasing the traffic jam on most streets.

The lt. Col. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Sabah pointed that the General Directorate of Traffic will work hard in the coming period to reduce these serious misuses especially regard to speed and red light excess, stressing the need to adhere to regulations and traffic instructions to ensure all road users security and tranquility.‬
