Directorate of Traffic Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin
Sabah Al-Khalifa that changing the color of the
vehicle or the posting without notice to the
General Directorate of Traffic is considered a
traffic offense punished by the law on the basis
of article No. (21) of the Traffic Rule in 1979
which states "The registered vehicle’s owner
should notice the General Directorate of Traffic
of any fundamental change in the fundamental
parts of the vehicle, and since vehicle’s body
is one of the essential parts any changes in
should be noticed on the basis of the Article
(163) of the Regulations of the Traffic Law,
though adding a poster, however, it does or does
not carry any content of writings, drawings or
any other data is a fundamental change without
the consent of the competent authority, which
result in the cancellation of registration
certificate of the vehicle as soon as evidence
of change, according to the article (21). "
The Acting General Director of the General
Directorate of Traffic said that all drivers and
vehicle owners need to adhere to traffic rules
and regulations and not to change the color of
the vehicle specified in the ownership of the
vehicle without the consent of the General
Directorate of Traffic and that all violators
will be exposed to legal accountability.
He emphasized that the General Directorate of
Traffic has find in the recent period the
phenomenon of changing the color of vehicles
through the reflective stickers on the body of
the vehicle to conceal the features and color
without the consent of the General Directorate
of Traffic, which adversely affect traffic
safety, and to ensure the safety of all road
users the General Directorate of Traffic in
coordination with the Ministry of Trade and
Industry to urge car owners not to add any
decoration, posters, or changing the color of
the vehicles without notice and get the prior
approval from the General Directorate of
Traffic.
The Acting Director-General of the General
Directorate of Traffic stressed that the General
Directorate of Traffic will intensify its
campaigns in the coming period to reduce such a
serious phenomenon through control the violating
vehicles, hoping from everyone to cooperate and
commit to the traffic regulations to ensure
traffic safety for all.
